Do you want to help end childhood hunger in America? Join us to learn how to establish partnerships between your synagogue, local food banks and schools to provide food for children in need.

"Backpack Buddies" programs are currently being run in communities throughout North America. These programs provide nutritious meals to children from food-insecure homes. Each Friday afternoon, students receive a backpack filled with balanced meals and healthy snacks for the weekend, when they don't have access to free or discounted school meals. Many congregations are becoming sponsors and coordinators of these efforts – and so can you!

In this interactive session we'll discuss:

•    How to set-up a "Backpack Buddies" program through your own congregation;

•    Ways to fight hunger locally and nationally – through hands-on projects and advocacy initiatives; and

•    Explore the Jewish values that inspire our efforts.
