Gina Drangel

Gina Drangel is a fellow in the Union for Reform Judaism's 2018 JewV’Nation Fellowship’s Jews of Color Leadership Cohort. She holds a Masters’ Degree in vocal music performance from the Aaron Copland School of Music and also an accounting degree from Queens College. She works for Empire State Development as senior accountant/assistant payroll manager. She is an active congregant of The Reform Temple of Forest Hills in Forest Hills, N.Y., where she is on the board of trustees and the president of the Sisterhood.

Being Black and Jewish has given me the strength to walk proudly. I have been asked on many occasions how I could be Jewish. I always respond to these questions because I believe that asking questions is a profound way to grow and learn.
