Julie Silverstein (she/her) is the co-author, along with Tami Schlossberg-Pruwer, of the newly released Chutzpah Girls: 100 Tales of Daring Jewish Women (Koren/Toby Press). A professional speechwriter, Julie holds degrees from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and UCLA’s Honors College. Originally from San Francisco, she now lives in Jerusalem with her husband and five children. Julie enjoys long walks and celebrating Shabbat with family and friends.

As a college student studying during a year abroad at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem years ago, I participated in programs offered by the Reform Movement’s Religious Action Center (RAC), which trained students to advocate for civil and human rights through a Jewish lens. That experience defined my Judaism as one rooted in action and activism.
