Leanna Cossman (she/her) is a registered nurse with 39 years of experience. She is a member of a type 1 WHO EMT team and works in EMS and international disaster response. Leanna is based in Champaign, IL, with her spouse and twins, and loves dogs and travel.
We celebrated the holiday of Tu BiShvat – the “Jewish Arbor Day” – way back in February, and we won’t celebrate it again until January. But no matter: I need to talk about the trees now.
This month, I was fortunate to spend time in Gondar, Ethiopia, volunteering with Jewish Healthcare International. The task was to provide medical screening for the remaining Ethiopians making aliyah to Israel in 2013.
