It is not the sound of triumph Or the sound of the melody of defeat It is the sound of song that I hear.

This prayer for peace, a prayer for a better world, is remarkably hopeful, an attempt to look for a future that seems difficult to reach at best, impossible to imagine at worst: a future of complete peace in the Middle East for all nations and all peoples.

The flood waters came, wreaking havoc upon our cities, our homes, our rescue workers, our sense of security, And we turn to You for comfort and support. Help us to differentiate between floods of destruction and down-pouring of Your love and comfort.

God of the selfless, God of the strong and the brave, Grant a perfect rest among the souls of the righteous

This piece of liturgy was originally written for the interfaith prayer service held prior to Los Angeles Pride Parade.The prayer memorializes those who have employed the various ways individuals can and have made a difference in promoting justice for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community.

Every year we venture back to the place we were before And though our lives may differ we share a bond forever more All year we sit in classrooms and we have to wonder why Our summers are so special at OSRUI.

Our God, God of our ancestors, we thank you for the numerous blessings you have bestowed upon our nation. Out of the many nations of the world, our country has been blessed with a singular opportunity - to demonstrate how peoples of many faiths and heritages can live side by side, and enrich one another's lives through friendship and the sharing of our unique traditions.

G-d beyond my understanding, The sky has turned violent, Crushing homes and lives, Upending dreams, Toppling the foundations of hope and sustenance.

God of the survivor, God of the mourner and the witness, Grant solace and peace to those still held by physical, emotional, and spiritual distress from acts of terror.
