Before Commandments
The people say to Moses
"What G-d says, we'll do"

Would you be willing
To take on obligations
Before hearing them?

Perhaps redemption
"Carried out on eagles' wings"
Gave the people faith

From Exodus 19:3-8: [G-d said to Moses] Thus shall you say to the house of Jacob, and tell the people of Israel, you have seen what I did to the Egyptians and how I carried you on eagles' wings … if you will obey my voice and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own treasure among all peoples … you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation … and all the people answered together and said, "All that Adonai has spoken we will do."
