Ice Cream with a Jewish Twist!

Whether it’s during Shavuot, on a toasty summer day, on Ice Cream for Breakfast Day (the second Saturday in February), or even in the middle of winter, ice cream is one of the most beloved desserts we can think of – and we’ve got a few Jewishly inspired recipes you’re going to love.

  • Apples and Honey Ice Cream: Heather Lorgeree shares a delicious take on our favorite Rosh HaShanah flavors. Start by making an apple puree, which you’ll then add into your honey-infused ice cream base. Tasty all year ‘round, of course, not just at the head of the year!
  • Turkish Coffee Ice Cream: James Beard award-winning Chef Michael Solomonov, born in Israel shares with us his favorite coffee ice cream recipe. His version uses Turkish-style coffee and a bit of cardamom to add Arabic flavor.
  • Strawberry Ice Cream: Chef Paula Shoyer shares this recipe from her cookbook Holiday Kosher Baker, an elegant dish so easy to make that the chef herself writes, “I was skeptical about the simplicity of the preparation, but it really works and results in a light, refreshing, frozen dessert”
