This is a topical approach to Reform Jewish life and practice. The course follows the rhythm of the Jewish year, but participants may begin at any point in the cycle. Meeting with the Rabbi is required before registration. Call the Temple office for an appointment.
Classes meet monthly. Special events like Shabbat dinner, Passover and Tu B'Shevat Seders, visits to other synagogues and tikun olam activity augment course work. Students are also expected to attend some worship services and Torah Study sessions during their year of preparation. An official Certificate of Completion will be issued by the URJ Introduction to Judaism program to every student who completes all the course requirements. Examination by a Beit Din and Mikvah conclude preparation.
