Have you ever been curious how relatable the Torah really is? A group of staff from the Kutz365 Alumni Network decided to spend an entire year rapping the weekly Torah portion, or parasha, from the Torah. Shabbat Sha'Raps started at camp in the summer of 2016, and then grew through Zoom over the course of an entire year. Filmed from Zoom boxes around the globe, this creative interpretation of Torah is a fun and easy way to understand the weekly Torah portion. Join Evan, Matt, Melissa, and lots of special guests on this joyful journey of discovering Torah!

Saturday morning and the peeps are here
It’s time for Shabbat – let me get a cheer
We’ll talk about Moses, Aaron, the Levites too
Ayyoo Matt, you know what to do
Throwback to last week, it was Haazinu
Moses reads his poem to the Israelite crew
He’s not going to the Promised Land, ain’t that sad
But with Joshua in charge, it can’t be that bad
Now before we keep going, there’s something to know
Because of Sukkot we take a pause in the show
We’ll jump back to Exodus, 33-34
As Moses talks to God, let’s get ready to soar
We get some more commandments, per usual
It’s part of making a pact, it’s completely mutual
God is compassionate, gracious, and slow to anger
Abounding in kindness, God ain’t no stranger
We know from last week that apples are delicious
And to be totally honest, they’re quite nutritious
When you eat them you don’t have to wash any dishes
Ayyoo Matt, rap a sukkah song
Well I love my sukkah, and that’s for sure
If you come to Arizona, I’ll give you a tour
Get your family, friends, and dogs too
Celebrate Sukkot with your sukkah crew
Thanks for listening to our twentieth rap
Stay tuned for more, we’re putting ourselves on the map
This has been your – Shabbat Sha’Rap!
