At camp, we love making and eating GORP, which stands for "good old raisins and peanuts." But... we put a whole bunch of stuff in ours that isn't raisins or peanuts!

Here's a recipe you might find on a typical camp field trip. What do you put in your GORP?

1 cup dried cranberries
1 cup chocolate chips
½ cup sunflower seeds
½ cup mini pretzels
1 cup granola

In a large owl, combine all ingredients. Store in an airtight container in a cool place, and portion out ingredients into smaller baggies as needed for a snack, a child's lunch, or a trip.

Other ingredients to consider include:

  • Raisins
  • Peanuts or other nuts
  • M & M's
  • Cheerios
  • Dried fruit
  • White chocolate chips
  • Pepitas
  • Popcorn
  • Miniature marshmallows
  • Goldfish crackers
