General Social Action

The Scheidt Seminar
Funded through the generosity of the Scheidt family, the annual URJ Scheidt Seminar for Presidents and Presidents-Elect convenes congregational presidents to learn, network, build relationships, and enhance leadership skills. It serves as a springboard for learning throughout presidents' terms.
Let One Who Is Hungry Enter and Eat: MAZON
Integrates Passover observance with combating hunger by partnering with MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger. Contact Information: MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger www.mazon.org Goals: To provide an action plan for that correlates to the meaning of the Passover holiday.

Tikkun Olam Religious School Project
The Temple created a Tikkun Olam project for every grade of the religious school. In this way, students learned Jewish texts throughout the year, were involved in the project with their families, and were able to build ongoing relationships with other Temple families.
Time for Tikkun Pledge Drive
The Temple revamped its Social Action Committee by creating pledge cards in which congregants can indicate which type of Social Action projects they are interested in doing and how often they are available.
S.O.S. Save Our Soldiers
Raised awareness to the plight of the three Israeli soldiers captured in the 2006 Lebanon War.
