What to expect:

  • Spend time learning with experts and leaders in the field
  • Work with peers and mentors in regular online meetings
  • Join in person in Spring 2022 for a weekend conference together with your cohort
  • Get support to implement your own project based on your interests

 

KOL KOLEINU:  TEEN FEMINIST FELLOWSHIP

In Partnership with Moving Traditions and United Synagogue Youth

Kol Koleinu invites teen Jewish feminists to explore and deepen their feminist knowledge, channel their voices to share their beliefs, and use their skills to create tangible change in their communities.  Open to Jewish high school students nationally, this 9 month Fellowship brings together teens to learn about gender analysis, feminism and social change, to use their expertise to teach their peers, and to complete projects that share their learning and leadership with their greater Jewish communities.

Songleading 

In Partnership with the American Conference of Cantors

Learn with Jewish music legends and gain concrete skills to lead your community in song and celebration. This prestigious eight-month fellowship is led by Cantor Rosalie Will in partnership with the musical leaders of our movement, including the American Conference of Cantors (ACC).  Participants join together twice a month for virtual meetings as a full group and with their cohort, in addition to working locally in their community and attending an in-person conference in Spring 2022.

Leadership Through The Arts Fellowship

Powered by URJ 6 Points Creative Arts Academy

Interested in leading through the lens of artistic expression? Channel your passion for the arts and your hone your leadership skills through the URJ Leadership Through the Arts Fellowship.  Learn with working artists in visual and performing arts and movement leaders; shape and share your point of view.  Participants will meet twice a month virtually for learning, mentoring with a small group, and creating, in addition to leading locally and attending an in-person conference in Spring 2022.

RAC Teen Justice Fellowship

Powered by the Religious Action Center

The fellowship is a learning intensive designed to train high schoolers to be community organizers in their home communities. Racial justice fellows will meet virtually every week for 6 weeks to hone your leadership skills, learn about advocacy, and be involved in the RAC’s work, including the Reform Movement's 2021 Racial Justice Campaign. As a fellow, you’ll learn community organizing skills, explore your own identity and what your sources of privilege and oppression are, the roots of racial inequity, skills to make your community antiracist, and complete a racial justice project in your home community. You get to learn, decide how you want to make an impact, and be the leader that makes it happen.

*NOTE – the Teen Justice Fellowship runs for half of the year and does not include an in-person retreat

Cost: The RAC is using a pay-what-you-can model for participation in this on-line RAC Teen Justice Fellowship. We have a suggested donation of $125 for Fellows, which includes the six learning sessions and support from RAC staff throughout the fall for your Fellowship Project.

ISRAEL ADVOCACY AND ENGAGEMENT FELLOWSHIP

The Reform Israel Leadership Fellowship is designed for students grades 11-1st Year University/Gap Year to develop leadership skills around Israel, Zionism, Jewish Peoplehood, and a Reform Jewish approach.  Learning with experts in the field and peer mentors, participants will gather twice a month online and at an in-person weekend conference to explore their own views of Israel, prepare to be leaders in their communities, and mobilize around progressive issues including religious freedom, LBGTQIA rights, and the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.    

  • Open to 11th grade – College Freshman/gap year

Adaptive Innovation Fellowship

In partnership with New York University (NYU)

Participants who successfully complete this unique Fellowship will earn an academic certificate from NYU in Adaptive Innovation. In these turbulent times, the study of entrepreneurship and innovation can be a stabilizing force, providing the mindset that will help you understand the new world, navigate it, and change it.  This 9 session online experience was developed by Dr. Nir Tsuk, founder of NYU’s Institute for Impact and Intrapreneurship, and will follow a similar curriculum to NYU’s innovation courses.  Participants will gain skills in entrepreneurship and innovation, build an entrepreneurial connection to Israel, navigate current challenges and shape the solution, and meet similarly passionate students while learning from experts in the field. The nine weeks of learning will conclude with each participant implementing a project that they are passionate about and engages a circle of peers. This Fellowship requires from its participant's commitment, creativity, curiosity, and ambition. Its outcome, in turn, is graduates who will skillfully navigate their future—and shape it.

This program will take place on Sundays for 9 weeks beginning in November 2021.  We will choose the time on Sundays based on the availability of enrolled teens.

Collaborate with teens from across North America and educators from your Jewish community to ensure learning is meaningful and relevant.

Join us and take your training to the next level! Together, with a North American cohort of teens, learn how to create lesson plans, lead a classroom experience, and inspire youth in your community and beyond. Open to teens grades 9-12. It is recommended to complete the URJ Madrichim Academy 101 before taking this academy. This will be offered virtually in the Spring of 2022.

In partnership with the Jewish Youth Climate Movement

Join with peers from across North America to learn with climate justice experts, gain critical skills for organizing and taking action, and help ensure a more equitable and sustainable world for all.   Participants will leave this academy with the knowledge and resources to participate in this movement or launch their own climate justice work in their congregation, NFTY region, or larger community.

Task Forces

Guide NFTY, the Reform teen community, and synagogues on topics important to you and our Movement.

What to expect:

  • Partner with NFTY North American Board members and teens from across North America
  • Create legislation, strategies, and resources for Reform Jewish teens
  • Strategize with peers and mentors in monthly online meetings

Registration for Task Forces is on a rolling basis.  Once you register you will receive an email with information, as well as an invitation to the next Task Force meeting. 

 

Environmental Justice Task Force

Our environmental Justice Task Force is a member of the Jewish Youth Climate Movement (JYCM) and focuses on taking action around environmental issues and creating a more equitable and sustainable world for all. This Task Force brings together Reform teen leaders of JYCM Kvutzot/chapters and those who are interested in launching chapters in their synagogue, NFTY region, or local community. Together we will leverage the strength of the Reform Movement to take action on political policies relating to the environment and the relationship of racial injustice and environmental issues.  

Task Force members are encouraged to also participate in the Jewish Youth Climate Activism Academy (see Academy section) if they are new to this work in order to gain critical knowledge and skills.  Join the Taskforce now to start joining meetings in the Fall.

The Inclusion Task Force is a great place for… everybody! Together we will learn about best practices from our peers and experts and provide you with the tools to incorporate inclusion into every step of planning, organizing, and implementing programs. We will also learn to assess different aspects culture in our movement and develop impactful means of changing exclusive aspects of culture. We will come up with projects that will help make our Movement and our communities for inclusive. join the Taskforce now and come to our next meeting!
