Yom HaZikaron and Yom HaAtzma-ut: From Mourning to Celebration

Israel's Memorial Day (Yom HaZikaron) is observed May 12-13 and leads into Israel's Independence Day (Yom HaAtzmaut) on May 13-14. Though we have much to mourn, especially this year, Yom HaZikaron and Yom HaAtzmaut emphasize the connection between honoring the fallen and celebrating freedom.
