Familiarity with Hebrew reading and common Hebrew words can be a key to feeling comfortable in Jewish community and congregational life.

Congregations offer courses for a variety of Hebrew levels, covering a variety of topics, including biblical, modern, prayer book, and conversational Hebrew.

The URJ offers Learn to Read Hebrew for Adults, an online ten-session course. Learn the shapes and sounds of the Hebrew alphabet, with a warm and supportive educator to guide you and a group of classmates for practicing together.
