Robin Harrison (he/him), an alumnus of the Union for Reform Judaism's 2018 JewV'Nation Fellowship Jews of Color Leadership Cohort, is the father of two daughters and husband to Mulu, his wife of 29 years. He graduated with a B.A. in theatre arts from CSU Dominguez Hills. Robin currently works as a schoolteacher and continues to seek ways to lead or influence future generations. He is active in his congregation, which he considers his second home.
This is not yet the America most of us dream of, but it is an unavoidable part of our DNA. American equality and exceptionalism are checks that are still in the mail. If we truly love what this country is capable of, we must continue to speak the hard truth to power.
I like to tell people that being Jewish brought out the beauty within me that I was never able to put into words or actions until I came face to face with its illuminating teachings.
