Michael is originally from Grand Rapids, MI, where he studied theatre and performance at Grand Rapids Community College. He moved to NYC in 2000 to be a stage actor. In 2008 to teach in Religious School as a way to supplement his income and fell in love with Jewish education and now brings his theater background to the classroom. Michael has worked with Jewish children from Nursery to High School, in Jewish camping and in synagogues. Recently, he participated in URJ’s Jew’V’Nation to create a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment in all the Jewish spaces he participates in. Michael will be starting his 13th year teaching religious school at Temple B’shert in September.
