Vayak’heil (and P’Kudei) for Teens: Shabbat Sha-raps

Vayak'heil - P'kudei, Exodus 35:1–40:38

Ever wanted to see how relatable the Torah really is? Counselors at URJ Kutz Camp, a Reform Jewish leadership camp for teens ,wanted to do just that. They made awesome raps discussing the weekly Torah portion, or parasha, for an entire year!

This parasha, sometimes in a double parasha* with the next, starts with Moses teaching the rules of Shabbat. He then asks for donations for the Tabernacle (altar) and for people to help to build it. In P’Kudei, we learn about the materials used to build the Tabernacle and the priestly vestments (robes). Moses blesses the Israelites and anoints the priests.
