Have you ever been curious how relatable the Torah really is? A group of staff from the Kutz365 Alumni Network decided to spend an entire year rapping the weekly Torah portion, or parasha, from the Torah. Shabbat Sha'Raps started at camp in the summer of 2016, and then grew through Zoom over the course of an entire year. Filmed from Zoom boxes around the globe, this creative interpretation of Torah is a fun and easy way to understand the weekly Torah portion. Join Evan, Matt, Melissa, and lots of special guests on this joyful journey of discovering Torah!
This parasha opens as Jacob journeys to a new land. On his way, he stops to rest and angels come to him in a dream to bless him. When he arrives in Haran, he works in order to marry Rachel, but at the wedding her sister Leah is there. He has to work even more to marry Rachel. Listen here to find out what happens next!

Saturday morning and the peeps are here
It’s time for Shabbat – let me get a cheer
We’ll talk about creation, the garden, the great flood, too,
Ayyoo Matt, you know what to do
Throwback to last week, Parashat Toldot
We've come so far since Noah and the boat
We meet Jacob and Esau, and they get in a fight
Because Jacob was blessed with all of Isaac's might
Vayeitzei, let's get ready to go
Jacob takes the lead in the Bible show
He's leaving town, blessings and all
Like Abraham before, he's knows how to ball
He has a dream with angels, that's wassup
On a big tall ladder, going down and up
If only there was Twitter way back then
Every tweet about this would be an epic win
Searching for a wife, scanning faces
He's looking for love in all the right places
Cause he finds Rachel and he swipes right
But he's gotta work 7 years under the bright light
Then the big day comes and what do we see
Jacob married Leah, that just can't be
So he works some more and gets a second wife
It's Jacob, Rachel, and Leah for life
11 sons and a daughter join the crew
Just wait for next week to see what they do
Thanks for listening to our twenty-eighth rap
Stay tuned for more, we’re putting ourselves on the map
This has been your - SHABBAT SHA’RAP!!!
